CV NEWS FEED // Catholic bishops in dioceses across the United States are joining forces with #iGiveCatholic to inspire generosity and support for Catholic ministries and organizations on Giving Tuesday, which falls on December 3 this year.
#iGiveCatholic is a nonprofit that runs the annual U.S. Catholic Church’s giving day initiative, held on #GivingTuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Catholics are encouraged to financially support Catholic organizations on Giving Tuesday, helping to “feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, and preserve our Catholic heritage for future generations.”
“In Giving Catholic together, we share a portion of what we’ve received in order to build the body of Christ and share His love with the world … one soul at a time,” the #iGiveCatholic website stated.
The initiative, led by Catholic bishops in collaboration with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), offers an easy, inclusive platform to for donations to the Church at local, national, and international levels.
“Your generosity supports evangelization and pastoral projects, poverty reduction, catechesis and religious formation, social justice programs, and humanitarian and disaster relief and recovery,” the USCCB stated on the #iGiveCatholic website. “Contributions are well-managed and put to use quickly.”

“Every gift matters – by combining resources we make a tremendous impact and carry out more effectively our mission as Catholics,” the bishops added.
Founded in 2015, #iGiveCatholic began as a giving day uniting the Catholic community to express gratitude and support for charitable causes. In March 2020, the initiative expanded with the launch of #iGiveCatholic Together, initially aimed at addressing financial challenges Catholic parishes, schools, and ministries faced during COVID-19 shutdowns.
This platform has since grown to offer year-round online giving, hosting sites for national organizations such as the USCCB Office of National Collections, People of Life, and The Catholic University of America, as well as for dioceses and Catholic groups holding giving days outside of Giving Tuesday.
