Rapper Young Scooter died after he cut his right thigh on a wooden fence, leading to 'marked' blood loss, the Fulton County Medical Examiner said Tuesday.
The Atlanta star, real name Kenneth Bailey, was originally believed to have been killed by a gunshot wound on March 28 - his 39th birthday.
'This injury was not a gunshot wound,' the medical examiner said, according to Rolling Stone.
'Mr. Bailey injured himself on organic (wooden) fencing material and/or woody debris after vaulting at least one fence,' they added.
The Atlanta Police Department initially said he suffered a gruesome leg injury after allegedly fleeing from them.
Rumors quickly spread that the cops involved in the incident shot the performer.
On Monday, police released audio of a woman's 911 call in which she claimed to have seen a nude, 'beaten and bloody' woman engaged in a fight related to drugs who was dragged from a home in the Lakewood Heights neighborhood.
