Call of Duty released another update on March 14 for Warzone and Black Ops 6, just three days after the March 11 patch, to give LMGs a boost.

The main changes from the previous update was the D1.3 Sector, the rechambering blade launcher introduced with Season 2 Reloaded as a secondary gun, being buffed, as well as the Superi 46 SMG being nerfed.

The new update brings a major buff to a new LMG attachment to shake up the meta, along with some overall bug fixes.

Meta analysis

You can unlock the Belt-Fed attachment by earning 180K XP during the TMNT event.

The Belt-Fed attachment has certainly been made significantly better for use across all modes, thanks to three specific changes that address its previous weaknesses. Notably, the overheating mechanic has been made less of a nuisance, allowing for longer sustained fire before overheating occurs, and when it does, it does not last as long.

However, despite these improvements, it’s unlikely to make a major impact for players reconsidering LMGs as a whole, especially given the dominance of Assault Rifles and SMGs as superior S-Tier weapons for Black Ops 6 and Warzone gun rankings.

That said, it’s worth experimenting with Belt-Fed on LMGs, especially in Warzone, where sustained fire can be crucial. The XM4 and PU-21 are the only viable LMG options in the meta, and with these buffs, they could be worth dusting off the cobwebs for in your loadouts.

Time will tell if the attachment buff has made LMGs worth considering again in CoD during Season 2 Reloaded, but for now, the focus remains on the reigning weapon dominance of ARs and SMGs, with one new gun continuing to wreak havoc as the most annoying weapon after its buff.
