Beyonce fans have jumped to her defense after many people criticized the singer for letting her daughter Blue Ivy wear a glamorous strapless gold gown to the Los Angeles premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King.
Blue, 12, looked grown up as she posed on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Monday evening with her parents, just one day after her father Jay-Z was named in a lawsuit alleging he raped a 13-year-old girl with Sean 'Diddy' Combs in 2000.
Upon seeing pictures of Blue in the metallic gown, which featured a train, many people rushed to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their thoughts.
'She’s 12. A bit overdressed maybe?' one person suggested, as another wrote: 'Blue Ivy looks older than 12 and that’s bad. Another case of a hurried child.'
A third X user commented: 'Is this an appropriate dress for a 12-yr old? Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s daughter Blue Ivy is dressed for the red carpet way beyond her years!'
A fourth person claimed: 'Blue Ivy looks like she’s 23 years old. She looks like no 12 year old I know.'
A fifth said: 'I thought Blue Ivy was 12?! Why do they have her looking like she’s 18?' and someone else added: 'Blue Ivy is 12? That is a TWELVE-YEAR-OLD?!?! Oh dear God...'
A different person added: 'OK so I’ve been looking on X or whatever you wanna call this website and I’m seeing Blue Ivy red carpet photo, I had to check twice to make sure she wasn’t 12. She’s 12. I’m older than her. Oh my God!'

Many people have criticized the singer for letting her 12-year-old child wear the strapless gold gown
And someone else fumed: 'This trend in making pre-teens and young teenagers look as if they are experienced adults needs to end.
'There’s no reason for this little girl - because she still has the brain of a child- to be dressed like this,' they added.
Posting a video of Blue posing on the red carpet with Beyonce and Jay-Z, another person wrote: 'This is insane for obvious reasons but i also think we need to acknowledge that Blue Ivy is 12 and putting her in a dress like that is f**king weird sorry.'
But many fans were quick to defend Beyonce as one person claimed: 'She's wearing a ballgown. A lot of little girls wear this type/cut of Disney dress. You're only sexualizing it because Blue Ivy is developing. She can't help that.
'But the fact that you are focused on a 13yo's developing cleavage in a big dress makes YOU weird - not her parents,' they added.
A second person wrote: 'Blue Ivy had that ball gown on for all of 20 minutes. She changed in to a whole different 2-strap dress after the carpet. Y’all are so weird sometimes. She still looks 12.'
A third said: 'Y'all moral panic over Blue Ivy's dress and makeup isn't convincing at all. That's her first really serious movie premiere. There's nothing inappropriate about a tall girl, one who most likely developed early, wearing a ball gown and makeup. There's nothing to sexualize.'
Someone else wrote: 'Oh they better leave Blue Ivy alone too! Wasn’t nothing wrong with her dress and she looked very age appropriate and beautiful!'

Another X user compared the gold garment to a 'Disney dress' and accused people of 'sexualizing' Blue

Another person said: 'I don't care what anyone says I love this dress on Blue Ivy. It's a pretty princess ballgown, it's not too grown and not too young. I think her and Harper Beckham are the nepo kids that always get it right.'
Singer Christina Milian also defended the outfit during an appearance on Sherri Shepherd's show, Sherri, on Tuesday when asked her thoughts.
'First of all, she looks gorgeous. I think the fact that anybody has anything to say about someone else's daughter, any minor, I think just mind your business,' Christina, 43, said of Blue Ivy's look.
'She's talented, she toured the world with her mom, like there's nothing you can say. You can't dim that shine,' the Disney star went on.
Sherri then said that Blue acted 'so poised' as Christina agreed and said: 'Let that baby glow!'
