Banijay Rights, the global distribution arm of Banijay Entertainment, has announced its documentary series “Bosé Renacido,” which translates to “Bosé Reborn,” the most-watched non-fiction format in the history of Spain’s Movistar Plus+ platform, will feature in the company’s Content Americas 2025 lineup. The Miami-based market takes place next week.

Produced by Shine Iberia (Banijay Iberia) for Movistar Plus+ in Spain, the four-part documentary explores the extraordinary life and career of Miguel Bosé, one of Latin music’s most influential figures.

“Bosé Renacido” delves deeply into the singer’s personal and professional journeys and will take viewers through pivotal moments of Bosé’s life, from his childhood within his renowned family to his rise to international stardom. It also explores his journey into fatherhood and his current life in Mexico. Through intimate and exclusive access, the documentary reveals both the man behind the music and the artist behind the fame.

Miguel Bosé’s career spans nearly five decades, during which he has sold over 30 million records worldwide and starred in landmark films like Pedro Almodóvar’s “High Heels.” Born in Panama City to actress Lucia Bosé and renowned bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguín, Bosé was raised in an environment rich in culture and art, surrounded by family friends such as Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway.

The premiere of “Bosé Renacido” coincides with Miguel Bosé’s highly anticipated 2025 concert tour, which will take him across Mexico, Latin America, and the United States from February through December.

Michelle Wasserman, Senior VP of Latin America, U.S. Hispanic & Brazil at Banijay Rights, said of the series: “‘Bosé Renacido’ gives a deep and compelling insight into the fascinating life of one of Latin music’s most influential figures, Miguel Bosé. With intimate and exclusive access to Bosé’s incredible personal and professional milestones, this documentary is a must-have for broadcasters seeking captivating factual programming at Content Americas and beyond.”

“Bosé Renacido” was developed after a conversation between Miguel Bosé and Shine Ibera CEO and series producer Macarena Rey.

“I called Miguel when he was writing his book and told him: if you really want to tell your life story, it’s time to make an exclusive and unique documentary series,” said Rey in a release. “This is ‘Bosé Renacido,’ a wonderful journey in which Bosé and 50 other people who appear in the documentary share unpublished anecdotes, details of their personal and professional lives, curiosities and a personal archive that is a real gem. Miguel has more lives than a cat; he is a life and another life and another life, and that’s why it’s called ‘Renacido.’ Today, a few months after its premiere, the series is the most watched non-fiction format in the history of the Spanish TV platform Movistar Plus+.”

“Bosé Renacido” is one of the numerous titles that Banijay Entertainment will showcase at Content Americas next week. The distribution company will also present scripted series such as “Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light” and the competition format “MasterChef: Dessert Masters.” Banijay Rights’ Michelle Wasserman and Ivania Zamora, VP of Sales, will be in attendance at the market, engaging with broadcasters and buyers.

Shine Iberia, known for producing a wide range of successful programs in Spain and Portugal, has worked on numerous local adaptations of Banijay Entertainment formats, including “MasterChef,” “Next Level Chef,” “Sewing Bee” and “The Voice Portugal.”

With the launch of “Bosé Renacido,” Banijay Rights further solidifies its position as a key player in the global distribution landscape, offering broadcasters compelling and diverse content for audiences worldwide.
