Bournemouth are hitting new heights under Andoni Iraola. Their 1-0 win over Everton extended their ongoing unbeaten Premier League run to eight games, a new club record.
Bournemouth are absolutely flying.
Saturday’s win over Everton took their points tally to 33 after 20 games. Never before in their seven previous Premier League seasons have they had as many points after 20 games (next highest was 26 in 2018-19), nor have they ever been as high as seventh (previous highest ninth) in the table after as many matches.
And now, they’ve set a new record for consecutive games unbeaten in the Premier League. Victory over Everton extended Bournemouth’s current run to eight games (W5 D3) without a defeat – they’ve never managed that before.
It’s a run that started on 30 November with a 4-2 away win over Wolves and has included impressive victories over Tottenham and Manchester United, as well as late goals to beat Ipswich and salvage a point against Fulham.
In fact, since the start of this run, Bournemouth have picked up 18 points. That’s a points tally that only Nottingham Forest (18 ahead of their Monday game) can match, although Arsenal could surpass them with a win at Brighton.
Bournemouth’s Current Unbeaten Run:
30 Nov 2024: Wolves 2-4 Bournemouth
5 Dec 2024: Bournemouth 1-0 Tottenham
8 Dec 2024: Ipswich 1-2 Bournemouth
16 Dec 2024: Bournemouth 1-1 West Ham
22 Dec 2024: Man Utd 0-3 Bournemouth
26 Dec 2024: Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace
29 Dec 2024: Fulham 2-2 Bournemouth
4 Jan 2025: Bournemouth 1-0 Everton
Prior to this run, Bournemouth’s previous longest unbeaten streak had been seven. They achieved that twice, once under Eddie Howe between December 2017 and February 2018 (W4 D3) and once under Iraola last season between November and December 2023 (W5 D2).
According to the Opta supercomputer, they are on course for their highest ever league finish (14.2% chance of finishing eighth), while European qualification is a real possibility.
