A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a missing girl's body was found in south Wales.
The teenager, from the Blaenau Gwent area, was arrested following the discovery of the body in the Duffryn Park area of Blaina on June 22.
In the early hours of Friday morning, Gwent Police confirmed the teenager had been charged.
Formal identification of the body has not yet taken place, police said.
But the force has confirmed the body is believed to be that of a 14-year-old missing girl named Lilly.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is in custody.
He will appear at Newport Magistrates' Court today.
Police said they were releasing Lilly’s name with her family’s knowledge because it will form part of the court proceedings.
