The Brazilian economy expanded by 0.6% in November 2024 compared to October. The FGV’s GDP Monitor released this data on Friday, January 17, 2025. Agriculture and industry sectors led the growth, despite stagnation in manufacturing.

The extractive industry, construction, and electricity-related services showed improvement. However, the services sector and household consumption remained flat for the second consecutive month.

Investments and exports performed well, with investments recovering after an October decline. In the quarter ending November, household consumption grew by 5.7%. This marked the first slowdown since May 2024.

Gross Fixed Capital Formation increased by 10%, driven mainly by machinery and equipment. Exports rose by 4.4%, the highest rate since April 2024. Imports grew by 18.8%, with intermediate goods imports standing out.

The accumulated GDP until October 2024 reached R$ 10.708 trillion. November’s investment rate was 17.6%, one of the highest in two years. However, a declining trend has been observed since August 2024.
