BREAKING: Ilhan Omar’s Home Raided As Part of “Ongoing Criminal Investigation”

According to Fox News Digital and its reporter Bill Melugin, the Washington, DC home of far-left Squad Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was raided early on the morning of Monday, October 12, by federal agents working for Homeland Security Investigations. Apparently, the gaggle of federal agents was spotted outside her home in the wee hours of the morning on Monday, and the raid began around 6 in the morning, local time.

Fox News Digital reports that the 6 a.m. raid was led by the Department of Homeland Security’s HSI agents who were there, but the Department of Justice and its agents were also involved in the investigation and, it seems, the raid on her District of Columbia home. Given past proclamations regarding the administration investigating her for immigration fraud, it seems likely that the raid was related to that investigation.

All the Department of Justice spokesperson said, in their comments to Fox News Digital on the matter, was, “Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation.”

However, Border Czar Tom Homan and others in the DOJ and DHS apparatus, including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, have previously indicated that the ongoing “criminal” investigation into Ilhan Omar is primarily focused on the allegation that she committed immigration fraud, and thus could be denaturalized and deported.

Mullin, for his part, said, weeks prior to the raid, “Something’s going to happen.” He continued, “We know that she married her brother to try to bring him to the United States. We know he now lives in London.” He then noted that denaturalization and deportation are possible, saying, “There may be more to this, the whole family migration and possibly some illegal activity for them to come to the United States to begin with. If we can prove it, that you shouldn’t have been here in the first place, we will deport you.”

Though such was not confirmed by a DOJ or DHS spokesperson, Fox News Digital indicated that the investigation was related to those allegations and that investigation. According to the outlet, “Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.”

President Trump has commented on Ilhan Omar’s immigration record as well, and has commented on the investigation into her. In one speech, for example, he said, “Get the hell out. What a phony. She married her brother to come in. I would imagine they are looking at her . . . I have nothing to do with it.”

Tom Homan, similarly, said, during an interview with Fox News, “I know things are going on, but I can’t give specifics of what’s happening. If someone committed an immigration violation, if someone committed marriage fraud or anything like that, regardless if they’re a congressman or not, no one’s above the law. So, I’ll leave it at that.”
