Brendan Carr
@BrendanCarrFCC

Broadcast media have had the privilege of using a scarce and valuable public resource—our airwaves. In turn, they are required by law to operate in the public interest.

When the transition is complete, the FCC will enforce this public interest obligation.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

As long as it doesn't devolve into another type of censorship.
In tandem, New York Times Co. v. Sullivan should be re-evaluated imho.

Also look into activities of the IC and the networks after Obama effectively killed Smith-Mundt.

Would that mean they would have to start giving both sides equally?

"Would that mean they would have to start giving both sides equally?"

That's a slippery slope. They'll give a Biden 5 hours and a Trump 30 seconds and say its equal treatment.

I'm more of 'honest reporting'.
Example: Remember NBC and the exploding truck? That should have put the broadcast license in immediate jeopardy in my mind. A weasel worded mea culpa doesn't cut it, or "we are sorry you didn't understand the nuance'. The proper path would be: "we effed up, and those responsible along with those who went along with it are fired, and their future prospects in this industry will be close to nil."

Cancel all the airwaves usage rights and re-auction them.

The FCC has been used as a form of government control and censorship since it came into being under FDR in 1933.

The Radio networks were stacked full of Progressives. Then WWII censorship piled them up in the radio networks, higher and deeper.

After WWII, the radio networks became the Television Networks. We have been living in a Mediacracy since at least 1964. President Trump finally broke the Mediacracy, as it has been trading credibility for short term political power since 1994. Competition has shown the legacy Media (the backbone of the Mediacracy) to be unable to sustain their chosen narrative, and with that, their power.
