Bride's furious feminist comeback at officiant mid-wedding sparks outrage: 'He married a Karen'

A bride has sparked outrage after derailing her own vows to issue a furious feminist comeback.

Regina Allulli and Brandon Keay tied the knot in Covington, Louisiana, back in April in front of their adoring family and friends.

The day appeared to be going without a hitch until the officiant declared the couple husband and wife – with his choice of wording leaving Allulli raging.

In a clip from the exchange, which has recently gone viral on X, the celebrant declared: 'Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to present the newly-married couple Mr and Mrs Brandon Keay.'

Allulli had been gazing out towards her guests with a soft smile at the time – but suddenly whipped her head back around to look directly at the unnamed officiant.

The crowd can be heard cheering in the background but Allulli remains unmoved as she exchanges very stern words.

The celebrant's facial expression changes dramatically before he appears to roll his eyes, sigh and prepare to announce the couple once again with altered wording.

Tweaking his announcement, he declares: 'Mr Brandon Keay and his wife Regina Allulli.'

Allulli seems to be much more satisfied with the renewed introduction as she turns back toward the guests to lap up a second round of cheers.

The couple raise their clasped hands in celebration with Keay seemingly overcome with a fit of giggles.

The video then jumps to a conversation caught off camera as the celebrant states: 'You did not tell me that.'

Allulli hits back: 'I thought you knew!'

Her new husband tries to calm the situation by repeatedly stating, 'I thought it was great' before another woman exclaims that the new bride had expressed a 'look of death.'

And the clip has sparked fierce backlash on social media.

While there were a handful of people who supported the bride's decision to stand up for herself publicly, there was a landslide of comments against her.

There were many who took it as a bad omen, as one scathed: 'This is cooked. Good luck with that, buddy.'

'At the very least, she didn't have to make a scene. Whether she changed the name or not,' someone else added.

'There are plenty of valid reasons for a wife to keep their last name. There are zero reasons to react the way she did. Run, don't walk, away from this marriage asap,' another hit back.

'Okay like... girl... calm down. This is not a big deal, but it does make you look CRAZY to react like that,' one added.  

'Wow, he's in trouble and has a hard road ahead. He married a Karen,' a fifth said.
