A couple who were relentlessly trolled after sharing photographs of their wedding day have revealed the eye-watering cost of undergoing IVF - and the fear that has come with it.

Lauren Evens, 31, and Hannah Kaye, 29, married at their local registry office in September and announced in October they are expecting triplets.

While the couple are thrilled to welcome their new additions to the family, they admit they're apprehensive about the criticism they may face from haters.

'People think I married a schoolboy and am having his children. They are ridiculous and uneducated,' Lauren, who also has also has a 10-year-old son and a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, told the US Sun.

The soon-to-be mom-of-five added: 'I know the abuse will only get worse now that I’m pregnant.'

The UK-based couple faced a barrage hurtful online comment after trying the knot, with Lauren falsely accused of being a pedophile because her wife looks so young.

Despite the onslaught of disparaging comments, the happy couple are now expecting triplets through IVF, using Hannah's eggs and a sperm donor, with Lauren carrying the babies.

Lauren and Hannah spent $11,300 on reciprocal IVF, which is a fertility treatment option available for same-sex female couples.

Lauren Evens, 31, and Hannah Kaye, 29, married at their local registry office in September, after the latter proposed nine months earlier

In reciprocal IVF, one woman supplies her eggs, which are retrieved and fertilized by donated sperm in IVF, with the resulting embryo (or embryos) implanted into her partner for pregnancy as a gestational carrier, according to Fertility New Jersey.

The couple started their journey in January 2024, deciding to undergo the treatment in Cyprus after realizing it would be far more expensive in the UK.

A video posted to social media earlier this month showed Hannah having her eggs collected, with three embryos retrieved.

'They gave us a 75 per cent chance one embryo would stick if we implanted all three embryos,' Lauren explained in the video.

Miraculously, all three stuck and the couple were delighted to find out they're expecting triplets.

'We knew the odds of the three embryos staying in the womb were incredibly slim and the clinic doctors advised us it was the best decision to make,' Lauren said.

After undergoing the egg retrieval and implantation in September, the couple were told to wait two weeks to take a pregnancy test.

But Lauren couldn't wait, taking a test three days later.

However, the UK-based couple faced a barrage of online comments, with Lauren was falsely accused of being a pedophile because her wife looks so young

Lauren was falsely accused of being a pedophile by hundreds of Instagram users for 'marrying someone so young' - despite Hannah being 29 years old

'I just had a feeling,' she recalled.

'When the test turned positive, Hannah and I were overwhelmed.

'To get a positive pregnancy result three days after implantation is unheard of. It was a miracle.'

Lauren is under strict observation, with the risk much higher for three babies, and the couple warned the risk of losing one or more of the babies and triplets can often result in a premature birth.

'To reach the three-month mark and all babies to be developing happily is another miracle,' she explained.

She added they're 'prepared for anything and hoping for the best possible outcome.'

The couple first met on Tinder two years ago, with Hannah proposing in January 2024.

The couple faced an onslaught of horrible comments after tying to know in September.

Lauren was falsely accused of being a pedophile by hundreds of Instagram users for 'marrying someone so young' despite Hannah being 29 years old.

'Some people said it was cute that my 10-year-old son was walking me down the aisle. Others said it was disgusting that I was kissing a young boy,' Lauren said.

Other vile comments left by the trolls include: 'I thought she married a child,' 'Why does he look like a 13-year-old boy?' and 'Is he old enough to get married?'
