A brand-new browser game where you have to draw countries from memory has been released, and it’s as challenging as it is addictive.
2026 has been full of popular browser games, with one site turning Wikipedia pages into a trading card game, and another making Half Life 2 fully playable in your browser for free. This latest one puts your geography and art skills to the test.
Developed by designer and engineer Pauline Wee, ‘country draw‘ is an extremely simple but frustratingly difficult game where you have to draw the outline of countries from memory within 30 seconds.
Italy is easy to draw, right? It’s famously boot-shaped. Well, it’s not as simple as it sounds, as my score of 40% accuracy proves.
You can picture the country clearly, but once you try to put virtual pen to virtual paper, you may quickly realise that in your head, countries like France and Brazil are nothing more than blobs. Luckily, some like Chile are very easy.
You’ll quite often get the same country again, allowing you to hone this totally useless but utterly satisfying skill.
The designer says she will add more countries, such as Canada, in the future, and agrees with a suggestion to make one for flags too.
Pauline also has other clever browser games on her site. ‘typeaoke’ has you type the lyrics to popular songs in time with the music, which is surprisingly tricky but great fun.
‘shrump’ uses your webcam to alert you every time you slouch in your chair, and ‘cena captcha’ gives you a captcha where you have to select images of John Cena (hint: you probably can’t see him).
