A new Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 port is reportedly coming to modern platforms, following various leaks and datamines.

There’s plenty of different CoD iterations for our modern consoles like PlayStation 5’s, Xbox Series X|S’s, and even the previous generations. But sometimes a game doesn’t hit quite as well as a great nostalgic adventure, like the old Call of Duty games.

Well, now it seems they’re getting some love, with a Black Ops 1 and 2 port reportedly coming to the PS4 and PS5 through backwards compatibility.

Black Ops 1 & 2 port leaked for PS4

Currently, as originally leaked by PlayStation Game Size on X, we know that Black Ops 1 and 2 are reportedly coming to the PS4 / PS5, with them originally assuming it’ll be a Nintendo Direct Shadowdrop. The latter was not the case, but it’s looking more and more likely that PlayStation fans are about to get a new port.

Currently, it’s assumed the games won’t be remasters, but instead purely ports, so don’t expect any major graphics or gameplay upgrades, or any changes to the map and additional content. As such, those who grew up on the classic Black Ops games will be able to hopefully play it exactly as they remember.

The PlayStation Store database currently only has a PS4 version of Black Ops and Black Ops 2, not a native PS5 version

Looks like the port may just be making the PS3 version playable on PS4 (and PS5 through backwards compatibility)

Alongside the port leaks, we also have the file size for both games, as reported by Forward Leaks. The Black Ops 1 file size will be 22.7GB, and the Black Ops 2 size will be 30.3GB. Of course, none of this has been officially confirmed just yet.

Lastly, PlayStation Game Size also revealed that the port “may just be making the PS3 version playable on PS4,” therefore making the titles available on PS5 through backwards compatibility. At the time of writing, the PlayStation Store database only has a PS4 version of the two games, so it’s likely this will be the finalised port.

Nothing has been officially announced just yet, but given the file size, leaks, and database mining, it seems the beloved games are on the horizon.
