Ceyair Wright Leaves Bengals To Pursue Film, Television Opportunities

Better late than never, I guess.

Back in April, the Cincinnati Bengals inked defensive back Ceyair Wright to a deal, with the former Nebraska Cornhusker being an undrafted free agent at the time.

Apparently, Wright was having a battle with two passions in his life, which are football and acting. And, well, it looks like acting has won. It was announced by the Bengals that Wright has exited the franchise “to pursue other opportunities,” and the team has put him on the Exempt/Left Squad.

“I don’t know how to properly define it for him. He called us last night and let us know that he had an opportunity,” said Bengals head coach Zac Taylor in reaction to Wright leaving. “I know it was a difficult decision for him. I think two things he’s really passionate about were colliding and he decided to pursue this opportunity. So, he’s a great kid, comes from a great university.”

He continued: “We wish him the best. He was fun to be around. He really competed hard for us. It was fun watching him play. I thought he was ascending as a player. But, obviously, he’s chosen to go a different path.”

Wright has previous acting experience, playing as the son of LeBron James in the “Space Jam: A New Legacy” movie. According to IMDb, Wright also acted in “Training Day.” On the television side of things, he made appearances in “2 Broke Girls” and “Grown-ish.”
