China's long-anticipated Xi'an H-20 stealth bomber remains shrouded in mystery, with no official unveiling in sight. Despite state media hints and promises of its debut, the aircraft will not be showcased at Airshow China 2023.

So, are we just making it up that China's military is so powerful? We have had stealth bombers since the 1980s. And yet, China has not one such bomber. Hmmm.

It doesn’t matter if they stole the “technology”, i.e. how to design RF low observables structures. They have lots of smart people, they would get there eventually anyway.

The real story is that China’s military power comes from the massive trade advantages we GAVE them. THAT would have taken them a century left on their own.

The theory was that trade would moderate their behavior. DID IT?

The problem with stealing technology is that you don’t know how to develop it or use it. And they never test it.

I was in Moscow and Leningrad, during the height of The Cold War. I left thinking “We are concerned that these guys are going to defeat us ? No way ! “

I suspect the same thing is going on with China. Never underestimate your enemy, but doubt they are military supermen.
