Chris Tucker shocked his fans at a recent stand-up show when he revealed just how long it has been since he last had sex.

During a comedy show in Las Vegas last week, the 54-year-old actor claimed that he had managed to maintain his celibacy for the past three years, a source at the show told TMZ

The Rush Hour star – who stepped away from Hollywood at the height of his fame – explained that the years-long wait is because he's waiting to get married again.

Sources who attended the show – in which audience members were asked to lock up their phones before they entered – told TMZ that Tucker said: 'Well, I'm celibate. I've been celibate for three years, but I'm really trying to get married. I give it to the love this time.'

He added: 'I'm serious. No one believes me.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to Tucker's representative for comment and to verify if the audience member accurately characterized his stand-up bit.

An audience member told TMZ that Tucker said he had been celibate for three years because he's waiting until he gets married again; Tucker is pictured with Ice Cube (L) in Friday (1995)

The Friday actor explained that members of his own family aren't convinced by his celibacy claim, including his niece.

He quipped: 'She believes in aliens, but she don't believe I did that.'

Tucker also revealed some of the reactions he has received from women after revealing that he has not been having sex.

He is said to have joked: 'She said, "How much? How much... how much is it?"

'I'm not selling it. I'm celibate! What is wrong with you people?' he shot back.

Tucker shares a son Destin, 27, with his ex-wife Azja Pryor, whom he was married to from 1996 to 2003.

It's unclear if Tucker's claims about his celibacy are related to his religious faith.

The comedian and actor was raised in an evangelical Pentecostal Christian household.

Tucker is best known for starring in the Rush Hour series with Jackie Chan, though he has largely stepped back from Hollywood in recent years

In November, it was reported that a long-awaited fourth film in the series was finally in the works after President Donald Trump 'personally pressed' Paramount Pictures owner Larry Ellison to revive the franchise; Tucker is pictured with Chan in Rush Hour 2 (2001)

Tucker, whose breakthrough role was opposite Ice Cube in 1995's hit comedy Friday, revealed in recent years that he opted not to appear in the franchise follow-ups Next Friday (2000) or Friday After Next (2002) because his character's profanity and marijuana use conflicted with his religious values.

Meanwhile, Tucker previously revealed that he planned to keep his comedy shows 'edgy' in the face of cancel culture.

The Friday star told Page Six back in 2023: 'You know, I want everybody to come to my show to laugh, have fun, to learn something – learn about what I’m thinking about – and then what got me to my point in life or success.

'It’s who I am not to really offend people and I try and I’m always conscious and stuff and hopefully I don’t.

'If I do, I tell them, "I’m sorry," you know, because it’s definitely a little – my show is edgy, a little bit, but not too edgy.'

Tucker is arguably best known for his roles in movies such as the Rush Hour buddy-cop franchise, in which he starred alongside Jackie Chan, but insists that comedy will always be his true passion.

He said: 'My movie career happened really fast, so that took up a lot of my time.

'But in my heart of hearts, I always was a stand-up comic, and I never want to ever give it up because that’s what got me to the movies.'

Tucker's connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came back into the spotlight with the release of millions of files related to Epstein by the United States Department of Justice in November. He was listed in Epstein's book of contacts, and he was on a flight to Africa with Epstein, Bill Clinton and Kevin Spacey; seen in  March 2024 in Austell, Georgia

In November, it was reported that a long-awaited fourth film in Tucker and Chan's Rush Hour series was finally in the works, after President Donald Trump 'personally pressed' Paramount Pictures owner Larry Ellison to revive the franchise, a source claimed to Semafor last November.

In February, it was reported that production was set to begin in the autumn of 2026.

Tucker has faced renewed scrutiny since late last year after his connection to the convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein came back into the spotlight with the release of millions of files related to Epstein and the investigations into his conduct by the United States Department of Justice.

The comedian was a passenger on a flight Epstein took to Africa with other famous figures, including former President Bill Clinton and disgraced actor Kevin Spacey.

The release of the first batch of files in November 2025 confirmed that Tucker was among the many famous names in Epstein's book of personal contacts.
