She’s ready to dance with somebody.
After initially hitting the Emmys 2026 red carpet in a sparkly white matching set, Ciara Miller changed into a velvet, tuxedo-style Marc Bouer gown with a meaningful history.
“This was Whitney Houston’s dress; she wore this in 1993 [and] 1994,” the “Summer House” star said on the red carpet, while co-hosting E!’s fashion coverage.
“When I put it on, I was like, hopefully my vocal cords will improve, and I’ll be a better singer but [that] hasn’t quite happened yet,” she quipped.
The beige, double-breasted gown was custom-made for Houston and features design details like sparkly buttons and a white satin collar. It was part of a Julien’s Auction sale just last month and ultimately went for more than $5,000.
Miller will further pay homage to the music icon when making her debut on “Dancing With the Stars” tomorrow night. She told the outlet that her and her pro partner, Brandon Armstrong, are planning to dance to Houston’s song “Exhale.”
Houston was a big fan of Bouer’s work, as the South African-born creative also designed her wedding dress, as well as multiple looks for her “I’m Your Baby Tonight” and “The Bodygaurd” tours.
Miller’s not the first star to re-wear part of Houston’s collection, as Kerry Washington stepped out in 2023 in Houston’s red velvet Bouer look from the 1996 BET Walk of Fame Awards Gala.
And earlier this year, Zendaya gave fans fashion flashbacks when she arrived at the the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards in the same flower-embelished Eugene Alexander design Houston wore on the cover of Life magazine.
Sarah Jessica Parker also wore a shorter version of the same storied style in the opening credits of 2008’s “Sex and the City” movie.
Now, it seems Miller’s ready to make her mark on fashion history, too.
