A Massachusetts lunatic accused of viciously killing two young locals Wednesday bludgeoned one with a cobblestone and impaled the other execution style with a pitchfork.
Carpenter Vitor Francisco Gomes, 28, reportedly pulverized killed Pablo Henrique Rocha-Dasilva, 20, and Eduardo Cardosa DaSilva, 19, after an argument at his home in Fall River where he lives with his wife and 6-year-old child, according to The Herald News.
Vitor Francisco Gomes, 28, has been accused of killing Pablo Henrique Rocha-Dasilva, 20, and Eduardo Cardosa DaSilva, 19. Fall River PoliceWitnesses told police that Eduardo knocked Gomes out during an “informal boxing match” near his home, according to an incident report obtained by Boston.com.
But Gomes wasn’t ready to let up and insisted they go another round — overtures that Eduardo refused.
Later that night, Gomes found the pair in a vehicle “attempting to drive away” after an argument ensued. Gomes fired three shots through the driver’s side window where Pablo was sitting, prosecutor Dennis Collins alleged at a Thursday court hearing.
Eduardo fled to the rear of the house where he was later found dead, shot face-down with a pitchfork jammed into the back of his skull, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
When Gomes was finished with Eduardo, he circled back to Pablo and “dragged him by the collar” from the car to the sidewalk.
He first bashed Pablo’s head with his firearm before grabbing a loose cobblestone from the driveway and bludgeoning him several more times, according to Collins.
Gomes murdered the two individuals after an argument occurred at his Fall River home, where he lives with his wife and 6-year-old child, according to The Herald News. WHDHMassachusetts State Police later found a blood-soaked Gomes just one block away. They arrested him after a short foot-pursuit — and discovered that he had a gun and ammo stashed in his bag.
Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan called the double-murder “one of the most brutal and depraved acts of violence” he’s ever heard of.
Gomes claimed, through his Brazilian Portuguese interpreter, that he and the victims were engaged in a “fight club”-style spar that spiraled out of control, forcing him to use “self-defense.”
He also alleged that Pablo and Eduardo arrived at the home with specific “ill-intent” and threatened his family’s lives.
Eduardo’s girlfriend told The Herald News that he and Gomes were “friends” and would hang out at a local park together.
Fall River Acting Police Chief J.T. Hoar said cameras in the area captured hours-worth of footage that are still under review.
Gomes pleaded not guilty to murder on Thursday.
He faces additional charges for unlawful carrying of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. He is being held without bail pending a probable cause hearing on July 14.
