A cold front is expected to sweep across Hong Kong this weekend, with temperatures dropping to 14 degrees Celsius (57 Fahrenheit) next Monday.
The Hong Kong Observatory on Thursday said temperatures rose to about 27 degrees in the urban areas around noon, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories.
But a cold front was expected to move across the coastal areas overnight on Saturday and bring a few showers to the region, with thunderstorms over inland areas.
“Under the persistent influence of the associated northeast monsoon, it will become cool over the coastal areas on Sunday,” the weather forecaster said.
“Temperatures will fall progressively. The minimum temperatures will be around 14 degrees in the morning early next week.”
