Hong Kong ticketing company Cityline has apologised to consumers who bought standing tickets for next month’s Coldplay concerts at Kai Tak Sports Park, after they were required to obtain new tickets due to misprinted information on the old ones.

Cityline said in an email sent out on Saturday night the fans would need to exchange their tickets at one of seven locations between March 24 and April 7 and the previous tickets would be deemed invalid.

The company “apologised for the incident and is arranging for ticket holders to exchange their tickets for updated versions”, it said in the email, adding the exchange concerned standing tickets priced at HK$1,399 (US$180) delivered by DHL.

The Consumer Council said that as of 7pm, it had received 17 complaints in relation to the exchange of tickets.

The pop band will play Kai Tak Stadium on April 8, 9, 11 and 12 as part of the group’s Music of the Spheres world tour.

Some fans took to social media to complain about the inconvenience the ticketing misprint had caused.
