Kingdom Come: Deliverance is known for its historical accuracy, featuring a brutally authentic depiction of life in 1400s Bohemia, but you might not have realized just how accurate the map is. You can see for yourself thanks to this clever website that lets you compare the game to real life.

KingdomCompare puts the location from the game side-by-side with the real-life location, letting you see how it compares in a 360-degree panorama. You can either have the two images next to each other or use an image comparison slider.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be constantly mind-blown at how accurate the game is. In most cases, it’s immediately obvious that you’re looking at the same location, with the buildings and streets almost perfectly aligned.

How KingdomCompare was made

Kreiser said that while planning their own Kingdom Come trip, they had to use Street View on one monitor and the game on the other, and wished there was an easier way to do it.

He took matters into his own hands and explained the painstaking method of creating the panorama comparisons.

First, he visited the real location in the Czech Republic to take the panorama images. Then, he edited out the monopod’s legs and shadow, as well as himself and other people.

After that, he found the same position in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and used an AutoHotkey script in the photo mode to capture a full 360 image.

He stitched all the screenshots together, then aligned the two game and IRL images together. If they don’t quite fit, he’d have to go back to the game and try again.

The Kuttenberg region, including the city of Kutná Hora, has dozens of locations for you to explore, and the Trosky and Sasau regions are listed as coming soon. On X/Twitter, the dev, Marius Kreiser, gave us a glimpse of their work on Sasau Monastery from the first game.

It’s well worth exploring both 1400s Bohemia and the modern-day Czech Republic while we wait for the next Kingdom Come game, which is expected to arrive sometime between April 2027 and April 2028.
