The Issue: Sen. Cory Booker lambasting the Trump administration in a 25-hour speech on the senate floor.

Sen. Cory Booker’s 25-hour speech was nothing more than political mumbo jumbo and inane theatrics (“ ‘Spartacus’ ends 25-hr. ‘filibuster,’ ” April 2).

He railed against President Trump, claiming his administration is ruining the country and urging Americans to fight back against his policies.

But what has Booker actually done to help Americans?

What has he accomplished for his constituents in New Jersey, the state he represents?

Nothing!

Booker shouldn’t make inflammatory statements that only serve to divide the American people.

The Democrats under former President Joe Biden had four years to solve the country’s problems and did little to nothing.

A true uniter of our country, Cory Booker took 25 hours to stand before Congress, delivering weather reports, current sports scores and gardening tips — to an empty chamber.

Since President Trump has only been in office for a short time, none of Booker’s rants could possibly be directed at someone who is actually moving the country forward.

Trump Derangement Syndrome has reached epidemic proportions.

Democrats’ reactionary, erratic meltdown was on full display during Booker’s record-breaking, rambling diatribe.

We are barely into this presidential term, so we should brace ourselves for much more of this histrionic behavior.

Buckle up — it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

In classic Spartacus fashion, Cory Booker took to the Senate Coliseum to battle Trump’s so-called “evil forces.”

Yet after condoning millions of illegal immigrants entering our country, voting against the Laken Riley bill and sitting silently during Trump’s speech, seems like Spartacus left his sword in the basement.

Will he vote to make Trump’s middle-class tax cuts permanent?

My guess?

Thumbs down.

Keep the plebs dumb and poor: That’s Booker’s modus operandi.

New Jersey, are you not entertained?

Hey, Cory — no one cares how long your Senate speech was.

The Issue: President Trump deputizing Elon Musk to reduce the size of the federal workforce.

From tariffs to DOGE reforms and deportations, the nation is once again moving in the right direction (“DOGE’s patriotic musketeers,” Miranda Devine, March 31).

The only concern for the future is that these efforts will be overturned by the next president, potentially a liberal one.

To ensure lasting change, Congress must follow up with legislation that cements these nation-saving policies into law now, while Republicans still hold the majority in both the House and the Senate.

If Donald Trump and his pal Elon Musk were truly serious about cutting back on unnecessary government spending, they might consider cancelling those SpaceX contracts and use the money instead to combat climate change.

After all, a healthier planet would no longer necessitate the search for any future home for us earthlings.

I have been closely following the reports on DOGE fraud, waste and abuse savings.

As a former systems analyst, I see no reason why these federal agency savings cannot also be implemented at the state level.
