Jason Aldean has spoken out after being snubbed by Billboard's greatest country artists of all-time list, admitting that he has a chip on his shoulder.

Earlier this week, the outlet published an extensive list of 100 best country acts from the past century, factoring in commercial success, longevity, and enduring influence.

Dolly Parton topped the ranking at number one, followed by Johnny Cash in second place, and Willie Nelson in third.

Meanwhile Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams Sr, George Jones, Garth Brooks, Charley Pride, George Strait, and Merle Haggard completed the top 10.

Despite having 27 singles on the Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts, Jason was completely overlooked on the ranking – much to the upset of his fans, his wife Brittany, and himself.

Jason, 47, voiced his uproar after songwriter Kurt Allison, who penned his famous hit Try That in a Small Town, slammed Billboard on Instagram.

In a grid post, Kurt wrote: 'What a joke @billboard - but not surprising considering the source.

'Despite holding the crown as the reigning ACM Artist of the Decade with 28 number one hits in his back pocket, @jasonaldean was somehow not listed as one of Billboard's 100 Greatest Country Artists of All-Time.'

The singer admitted to having a chip on his shoulder as he addressed the snub on Instagram

Responding to the upload, Jason said: 'This shouldn't come as a shock @kurtallison.

'And people ask if we still have a chip on our shoulder and feel like we have something to prove???

'Hell yea we do and this is a prime example why!! We'll just keep hammerin and do what we do. Same as we always have.' [sic]

Jason's wife of nine years Brittany was equally furious by the snub and blamed Billboard's 'wokeness' for the oversight.

'Remember when I said it's been a journey standing up for what we believe in?' she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

'This is a prime example of Jason being left out of things in the industry.

'[Billboard] your wokeness obviously overrides your ability to give credit where it's due, and it's sad.'

Jason's dismissal came just weeks after he 'proudly' voted for Donald Trump in the 2024 US Election.

Jason also said that the oversight 'shouldn't come as a shock'

Jason's wife Brittany was equally enraged by the oversight and slammed the outlet's 'wokeness' in a post on her Instagram Story

'As a father and an American citizen, I want to see our country get back to its values and principles that made us great to begin with,' he wrote on Instagram.

'Vote so our kids can have a safe and secure future.

'I proudly voted for Trump and encourage everyone to get out today and vote! It matters #noregrets.'

Earlier this week, Brittany predicted that newly re-elected President Trump will 'do really great things for this country' once he's sworn into office on January 20.

'We know Trump personally, and he's just such an awesome man,' the 36-year-old make-up artist gushed to Fox News Digital on Monday.

'But he's obviously going to do really great things for this country along with Elon [Musk] and RFK.

'I mean, there's just such a slew of awesome people right now that are, you know, going to help us all out, and we're all ready for a change, and we cannot wait for next year.'

'We were very supportive on the campaign trail. We've actually been supportive for years and years and years,' Brittany noted.

'And we received a ton of backlash initially. But I think everybody's coming around and things are – the tide is turning, and it's really awesome to see since we've been on that boat for a long time.'

This isn't the first time of late that Billboard has been called out for its rankings.

Last month, Hailey Bieber slammed the outlet for rating her husband Justin Bieber at number eight on the Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century list.

Furious by the placement, the Rhode Skincare founder wrote in the comments of Billboard's Instagram post: 'Billboard is a f**king joke as per usual!'
