A daughter took to Reddit to ask for help in reaching Rockstar, with the aim of securing her terminally-ill father an early copy of GTA 6.
GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated games of all time. As a result, terminally ill fans of the franchise who may not be able to play the game themselves when it releases have sought play tests or early access before they die.
Some have been successful, with one terminally ill fan hearing back from the Take-Two CEO in their pursuit of a play test. Now, a daughter has taken to Reddit with the story of her father who is desperate to play GTA 6.
Her father has stage four lung cancer
In the now-deleted Reddit post, user u/lexakommurry said that her father is a huge fan of the GTA franchise, sinking thousands of hours into the previous games in the series, and purchasing a PS5 just to be able to play GTA 6.
However, he’s been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and has returned home on hospice, with only a few weeks left to live. As a result, she wants to find a way for him to play the game before he dies. The daughter has offered to provide full details to Rockstar if necessary.
“We’d gladly provide proof of his hourly commitment, his diagnosis, and sign an NDA or any other legal
paperwork needed,” she wrote. “He’s a wonderful man and has been a great dad. I would love to let him have access to something he’s looked forward to for years before he goes.”

He even bought a new PS5 just to play it, but he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with predicted weeks to live:

Some Reddit users have tried to help by directing the user to Rockstar’s press email, or sending well wishes. “I hope this gets seen by Rockstar and your dad gets to play,” one user wrote. Another replied: “I remember Rockstar did something similar for a kid. May God bless your dad.”
