An erroneous tweet by Democrat Washington Sen. Patty Murray railed against a rock star on abortion issues rather than the newly confirmed Republican judicial appointee she had in mind.
Murray confused a now-confirmed Sixth Circuit federal judge and former Ohio Solicitor General Benjamin Flowers with rock band The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers in a Tuesday night post on X:
Today, Senate Republicans gave a lifetime judicial appointment to anti-abortion extremist Brandon Flowers.
This man argued to revive an abortion ban that would go into effect before most women even KNOW they're pregnant. Remember this.
“Today, Senate Republicans gave a lifetime judicial appointment to anti-abortion extremist Brandon Flowers,” Murray wrote.
The mistake garnered a slew of comments from users poking fun at the mix-up.
For one, the Senate Judiciary Republicans X account, posted a clarifier that showed pictures of both men. “Hope this helps!” the post read:
For those confused:
Benjamin Flowers (left) is a former Scalia law clerk & state Solicitor General. He's highly-qualified for the lifetime judgeship to which he was just confirmed.
Brandon Flowers (right) is the lead vocalist for alt rock band "The Killers."

Other posts had more choice words for the senator, and others flat-out questioned her intelligence, with one user saying “His name was on the placard in front of him, idiot Democrats like you are so incompetent that you can’t even get that right.”
Another X user questioned how the post was still live despite the laughable error, “Lolol how have you not deleted this.”
Murray has held her Senate seat since 1993.
Before she was in the United States Senate, she served in the Washington State Senate.

As for the rock singer Brandon Flowers, he is the voice behind his band The Killers’ hit song “Mr. Brightside.”
