Democrat Derek Tran unseats GOP Michelle Steel in razor-thin Orange County House race

Democrat Derek Tran has defeated Republican incumbent Michelle Steel for a House seat representing California’s Orange County and Los Angeles, NBC News projects, after a contentious race that centered on the candidates’ Asian American identities and use of aggressive anti-China messaging.

Tran, an Army veteran, narrowly won in a race that came down to just a few hundred votes. His victory over Steel flips the 45th Congressional District blue, making it one of two districts to do so in a state that has largely shifted right.

It's sad. The winner is in party that sold his country down the river. Orange County-plenty of thriving Vietnamese there. Wasn't good enough. They're not Cubans fleeing Castro.

Only someone incredibly naïve would not suspect cheating to be the deciding factor in this and several other seats in California.

We're supposed to believe multiple Republicans had the lead on and after election day and, then, finally fell behind three weeks later at the very end.

It doesn't pass the smell test.

It took them over three weeks to stuff enough illegal ballots into the count for the Rat to win. The Republicans in Congress should refuse to seat the Rat, but that would require a backbone.

We're going to keep complaining until something is done to reign in the ridiculous "voting" process in California and other blue cities.

This needs to be top priority of the Trump DOJ.

In California when it’s this close is there an automatic recount? Does the state pay for it or the losing candidate?

And yes, I know a recount will still count fraudulent ballots in the system... Which I am sure are there.
