As Democrats twiddle their toes in response to mounting anti-Tesla terrorism, one lawmaker opts for a more energetic approach: actively punishing the car manufacturer.

Democrat New York Sen. Patricia Fahy sponsored a bill this Wednesday which would ban Tesla from making in-person sales after July 2026. The company currently has permits for five in-person sales locations in New York. Other electric vehicle makers would instead be allowed to compete for those permits.

“No matter what we do, we’ve got to take this from Elon Musk,” Fahy said, according to Politico. “He’s part of an effort to go backwards.” (RELATED: ‘We Are At War!’: Dem Rep Melts Down During Elon Musk Protest, Demands To ‘Shut Down’ Senate | The Daily Caller)

This isn’t your typical virtue-tantrum. Just a few news cycles ago, Fahy was agitating in favor of direct-to-consumer sales of electric vehicles.

“My bill would allow for any electric dealership vehicles to come into New York,” the senator said in 2021, “We want to grow this industry across the board.”

Fahy is not a capitalist, but a carbon emissions obsessive.

The self-styled climate champion supported a bill designed to slash the annual total of vehicle miles traveled within New York by 20% by 2050.

This, in accordance with the New York State Climate Action Council’s “Scoping Plan,” which calls for “enshrining equity objectives in State investments.”

The plan claims “femmes, youth, and children” and “historically marginalized communities (e.g., people of color, indigenous, low-income, women)…bear a disproportionate burden of the impacts of climate change and pollution.”

Tsunami incoming; Women most affected.

The Historically Marginalized are to “receive a minimum of 35%, with a goal of 40%, of the benefits of spending.”

One anticipates an uptick in genealogical research among melanin-deprived New Yorkers. Who knew there were so many Argentine grandmas hiding in the attic?

Fahey’s attitude is that of scores of leftists scrambling to distance themselves from Elon Musk since the entrepreneur endorsed Donald Trump. The whiplash has been so severe as to spark a market for “I bought this before Elon went crazy” bumper stickers.

“The bottom line is, Tesla has lost their right to promote these when they’re part of an administration that wants to go backwards,” said Fahy, according to Politico. “Elon Musk was handed a privilege here.”

Fahy’s stated goal is not to better the lives of her constituents, but to enact tyrannical retribution against a political foe. Her actions are undisguised leftist lawfare. (RELATED: Trump’s DOJ Launches Review Of Law Firms That Participated In ‘Weaponized Lawfare’ | The Daily Caller)

But the Senator believes she is being victimized by the state.

She recently aired fears about Trump’s executive actions, blaming the President for everything from the price of eggs to homelessness: “Because we import so much of our aluminum from Canada, we import our lumber, that’s going to increase the price of housing even more, and that indirectly, is fueling the homeless crisis.”

Fahy eschews closer examination of what New York’s homeless crisis looked like in the years before Trump took office.

A guess: pungent and drug addled.

Fahy isn’t a hypocrite. Well, she is. But she’s also a political realist. She uses power to punish her enemies and is afraid others might do the same.

Rest assured, Fahy has a plan to fight back.

“I’m using my social media. I’ve restarted a podcast,” she told WAMC Northeast Public Radio.

Fingers crossed she’ll score a spot on Democrat Gov. of California Gavin Newsom’s pod.
