The Texas U.S. Senate race between Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic candidate James Talarico stands as one of the most competitive statewide contests in decades.
June polling from the University of Texas/Texas Politics Project showed Paxton at 43 percent and Talarico at 42 percent, with Libertarian Ted Brown at 3 percent. Democrats view this matchup as their strongest chance in decades to flip the seat, citing Paxton’s polarizing record and Talarico’s appeal to suburban and younger voters.
