Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2025: Start date, rewards, new mode, more

Players looking forward to Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2025 don’t have to wait too much longer, as the Games arrive in mid-March with a new mode, rewards, and more in tow.

A yearly event open to all Destiny 2 players, Guardian Games debuted in 2020 and pit all three classes against each other. Since then, Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks have joined the class-based competition to see which one comes out victorious.

This year’s event will be no different, with Bungie inviting players to participate in an effort to earn new armor sets, weapons, and more.

Here’s what we know about the 2025 Guardian Games so far.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2025 start date

In a Developer Livestream, Bungie confirmed this year’s Guardian Games will officially kick off on Tuesday, March 11, the same date that Episode Heresy Act 2 arrives.

Guardian Games 2025 boss rush mode

Bungie hasn’t shared many details as of writing, but the new boss rush mode will offer a “bite-sized” experience that’s not quite as robust as a Pantheon.

Instead, players will be tasked with taking down bosses, earn as many points as possible, and walk away with the resulting rewards. The studio plans on sharing more details in the upcoming TWID blog post.

Guardian Games 2025 rewards

As leaks previously suggested, the 2025 festivities will reward Guardians with three new Gladiator-themed armor sets.

In the Eververse, players will unlock these sets for free through Bright Dust, which itself can be earned through Pathfinder, seasonal challenges, and weekly bounties.

The armor sets include:

• Hunters: Glory of Apollo
• Titans: Honor of Ares
• Warlocks: Favor of Athena

Additionally, Guardian Games 2025 will bring a new Legendary Weapon to Destiny 2, an Arc Trace Rifle named Keraunios.

This weapon will pack in more of a “PVE focus” given all of the boss fighting that awaits for players. In terms of perks, Keraunios will make room for the likes of Overflow, Triple Tap, Detonator Beam, Jolting Feedback, and Rolling Storm.

Weapons returning in Guardian Games 2025

Several weapons will make their return during this year’s Guardian Games festivities, namely the Hullabaloo grenade launcher, Taraxippos scout rifle, and The Title SMG.

If the Games work similarly to the 2024 event, players should be able to unlock the likes of Taraxippos by completing quests to earn Medallions, which will then be exchanged for rewards.
