Since Season 8 will introduce a steep difficulty spike, Diablo 4 players are rushing to complete Pit 150.
Blizzard announced the difficulty adjustment in its Season 8 Campfire Chat, telling players the reason for the change came down to the increased rate of progression speed between Seasons 6 and 7.
According to D4 developers, the number of users who reached Torment 4 doubled between the last two seasons. Now, the team aims to ensure that only the top 10% of players hit such a milestone.
Based on the data currently available, content creators like Rob2628 have determined that Pit 150 in Season 8 will be about 70-times harder. While some Diablo 4 fans welcome the challenge, others are preparing themselves for the worst case scenario.
Diablo 4 players work to clear Pit 150 before it becomes impossible
One Reddit user said that while they previously had no motivation to venture beyond The Pit 135, reading over the Season 8 patch notes made them realize “it’s now or never to get the 150 clear chievo.”
While following a guide, the player dedicated a few evenings to boosting their Blood Wave Necro build, then managed to complete Pit 150 after a handful of attempts.
Several other people in the thread said they’re on a similar grind, trying to get through the higher Pit tier before the next season goes live.

Season 8 will reintroduce players to Belial.
Said one Barbarian user, “I am in the same boat. It’s pit 150 or bust for me this season on my HoTA Quake Barb.”
Another person said they’re “on this journey now,” having recently finished up 140 and itching to give 145 a try next.
However, not everyone’s worried about how much the Season 8 difficulty spike will impact their future odds in The Pit. Reads one such comment, “I am not that concerned. A few expansions worth of power creep mechanisms and we will speak about pit 250.”
Players won’t have a real read on how much more challenging The Pit will become until Season 8 arrives. Either way, there’s still plenty of time to get through 150 since the update won’t go live until April 29.
