Disturbing footage has captured a man’s “disgusting” attack against a woman sleeping rough outside a medical clinic in Adelaide, Australia.

Footage shared by 7News shows the man, dressed in a blue T-shirt, hurling a glass bottle at the woman while she was lying on the ground metres away outside the clinic.

Glass can be heard shattering on the wall before the woman screams out.

A split-second later, the man quickly turns around and jumps into a car, which quickly takes off down the street.

Laughter can be heard in the background.

Hutt Street Centre chief executive Chris Burns condemned the “disgusting” attack.

“It’s disgusting one human being would do that to another human being who is particularly vulnerable,” he told 7News.

“There is no justifying that.”

Burns later told The Advertiser violence is a “harsh reality for many people experiencing homelessness,” particularly for women.

Catherine House engagement manager Jaylee Cooper said the woman was likely left “incredibly traumatized” by the attack.

“As a community, we need to be providing more services and support, through crisis accommodation and longer-term housing strategies across South Australia,” she told the publication.

A South Australia Police spokesperson said the incident was not reported to police at the time, however, officers are now investigating.
