Disney Dreamlight Valley” revealed its roadmap through Summer 2025 during a developer showcase Tuesday, unveiling the Gameloft-made video game’s second paid expansion and as well as the upcoming the free game updates.

During the event, Disney and Gameloft also announced that the Gold Edition of “Disney Dreamlight Valley” (a bundle that offers the base game,”A Rift in Time” paid expansion and bonus in-game items) will be sunsetting to coincide with the launch of second paid expansion, “The Storybook Vale,” on Nov. 20.

“The Storybook Vale” expansion, which requires the base game (currently priced at $39.99) to play, will be priced at $29.99 and $49.99 for the “magical edition,” an offering that exclusive in-game items. The update will come in two parts, both included in the initial fee: “Welcome to the Vale,” launching Nov. 20, and “The Unwritten Realms,” debuting in Summer 2025.

See full breakdown of new pricing below.

The first drop will feature the game’s introduction of Disney and Pixar characters Flynn Rider from “Tangled,” Merida from “Brave,” and Hades from “Hercules,” with appearances by “Sleeping Beauty” villain Maleficent, who will be more prominently featured in Part 2. In the second portion, Gameloft devs hint that Princess Aurora a.k.a. Sleeping Beauty will join.

Per the description for the “Welcome to the Vale” story, “Go on a mythical adventure to help the Lorekeeper restore a far-away land while countering Merida, Flynn and Hades along the way.” And for “The Unwritten Realms” portion of “The Storybook Vale” expansion: “With the help of Maleficent, venture into a strange world beneath the Storybook Vale and solve the mystery of the missing princess.”

While there are only two parts to “The Storybook Vale” paid expansion and there were three for the first paid expansion, “A Rift in Time” (which launched last December), Gameloft developers said during the Tuesday showcase these two portions will include more story in comparison to the divided chapters of “A Rift in Time” that rolled out over the course of the past year.

In “The Storybook Vale” expansion, players will get access to the new net tool to help them catch new creature characters called “Snippets” in order to return Disney and Pixar magic to the pages of the Lorekeeper’s book. The game updated will include three new biomes inside Storybook Vale: The Bind (inspired by dark academia), Ever After (a magical mushroom fairy forest), and Mythopia (a Greco-Roman mythology section). Each of these new biomes will have new animals for players to befriend and turn into companions”: dragons, owls and mini winged horses.

On the free update side, “Disney Dreamlight Valley” is launching “Sew Delightful” on Dec. 4, which will include the holiday-themed “Frost & Fairies Star Path” featuring “The Nightmare Before Christmas” character Sally. In this update, the game will incorporate “floating islands,” which act as “extensions” of four of the existing Valley biomes to offer “ample space to create” and house villagers, as well as the ability to now use 16 points of rotation to place items and homes.

The showcase also teased the stories and characters set to come in more “Disney Dreamlight Valley” free updates through the coming year: “Aladdin” for early 2025, “Alice in Wonderland” for the spring, and finally solving the mystery of Skull Rock (with a hint at a “Peter Pan” connection) next summer.
