If you are what you eat then our latest poll suggests you vote what you drink. Or something like that.
The nation's polarization has not only driven a wedge through friendships and families but it extends even to a drink gap between voters and their favorite tipples.
Supporters of teetotaller Donald Trump and wine-and-ice-enjoying Kamala Harris break in very different directions when it comes to drink of choice, according to a J.L. Partners/DailyMail.com.
And it might not be what you think.
Voters who say their favorite drink is rosé wine are overwhelmingly supporters of Trump, a candidate whose rallies are often packed with the sort of bikers and burly farmers who you would think might look askance at a pink drink.
J.L. Partners polled 1000 likely voters on their thoughts about the two presidential candidates. And the results showed how Harris supporters like gin, while Trump supporters like rosé wine
It is not even close. While 33 percent of rosé drinkers say they will vote for Harris, a whopping 55 percent plan to vote for Trump.
Darker spirit drinkers—rum and whiskey—also go decisively for the Republican nominee.
Beer drinkers split almost down the middle.
But voters who reach first for red wine are more likely to be Harris supporters.
And the gap between the two sets of voters gets deeper as the drinks get lighter in color.
So vodka and white wine are overwhelmingly the choice of people who say they plan to vote for Harris. (The vice president herself has been spotted around Washington sipping from a glass of white wine topped up with ice.)
But it is gin drinkers who emerge into single cat lady territory, with the most decisive support for Harris.
At 65 percent saying they'll vote for Harris, versus 33 percent for the former president, a drink once known as 'mother's ruin' could be nicknamed 'Trump's ruin.'
Generally, Trump supporters favor darker drinks; Harris supporters like lighter ones

The results come from a national online survey of 1000 likely voters conducted from September 13 to 15.
'Trump voters might be known for a tough stance on the border, a hard-nosed approach to crime, a rock-solid belief in traditional values. But they love a bit of rosé wine,' said James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners.
'Our poll exposes the private preferences of the 2024 voters. If just rosé drinkers could vote, Trump would win the biggest landslide since Nixon.
'But if only those who enjoyed white wine—or a gin—could vote, then Harris would turn the country almost totally blue.
'Perhaps what this tells us most about politics today is that underneath every voter stereotype there is a surprise.'
The results from a parallel poll, that included phone calls and in-app questions, found that Harris had nosed ahead of Trump in the overall standings for the first time.
Harris is the choice of 43 percent of voters - up two points since the last poll on August 13 - while Trump is favored by 42 percent, which is down two points.
