WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald Trump's choice of Matt Gaetz — a Florida congressman who was recently the target of an FBI investigation — to be the next attorney general of the United States sent shockwaves through the Justice Department on Wednesday.
"OMG," said one current senior DOJ official. A second department official called the selection “truly stunning” and a third labeled it “insane.”
Gaetz, who was the subject of a federal sex trafficking investigation that ended without charges, has been a fierce Trump supporter and has regularly attacked both the Justice Department and the FBI, including calling for the bureau to be defunded and abolished.

Oh my, the swamp creatures are concerned, especially RINO swamp creatures, Hugh Hewitt and Byron York.

People who have committed numerous felonies under color of law are concerned that an AG who isn’t complicit in their crimes might take over. Knock me over with a feather.

If true, one can only regard Trump’s choice as inspired.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results!

Hewitt and York can shove a rake sideways up their arse. They are all about the “elite” class aristocracy, they have 0 respect for anyone who works for a living and believe they deserve to rule over us.
Anyone who gives an once of credit to the working class perspective deserves to be shunned in their opinion.

Those Dept. of Jackasses jerks should have seen how “stunned” Americans were when Pedo Joe put Merry Garland in charge of it.

Given the talk of a shadow government, attacks on Trump’s planned nominations, and the potential for the Senate GOP to muddy up Trump’s plans, I would say we’ve inched quite a bit closer to a civil war the DEMs and the Uniparty think they want, but would regret that choice.

Just show them a picture of Merrick Garland and ask for an honest comparison.

This seems to be the democrat’s messaging. Trump and his cabinet are crazy loons. They’re just not used to seeing a President govern like a President. They need to just shut up.

They thought they were above the law. They thought they WERE THE LAW.
They didn't think they would have to face justice for breaking the law (with their persecution of Trump and others on ideological grounds).
I'll bet they're shocked...and more than a little scared.
Oops.

Qualification to be AG of the US. After the political hacks Obama and Biden appointed that the GOP Senators rubber stamped, it utterly absurd for them to claim any sort of moral or intellectual standards about confirmation now.
Be a United States citizen
Be at least 18 years old
Be a member of the bar

"This seems to be the democrat’s messaging. Trump and his cabinet are crazy loons."
And that will likely be about as effective as when they called the Trump/Vance ticket "weird".

If the DOJ was upright, they would be calm about the Gaetz nomination.
