Dollar Tree fans have spotted a festive Pottery Barn dupe for just $1.25.

The discount retailer is currently stocking red Christmas stockings for 95 percent less than those on sale at rival Pottery Barn.

Dollar Tree's Christmas House Plush Red Stockings are a perfect dupe of the upscale retailer's Red & Ivory Channel Quilted Velvet Stocking, according to satisfied consumers.

Savvy shoppers are snapping up the wallet-friendly 18-inch decoration, which features a smart white cuff and helpful loop for hanging from the mantlepiece.

Pottery Barn's bestseller stocking is on sale for $29.50, which is 95 percent more expensive than Dollar Tree's alternative.

Value Christmas decorations have seen a surge in popularity this year on sites such as TikTok, as consumers are cutting back on holiday treats following years of inflation and elevated interest rates.

As such, shoppers have also rushed to Dollar Tree this winter to pick up a 'vintage style' Christmas decoration before it sells out.

The five-by-nine inch stoneware decorations are available in white, green and gold, each with colorful LED lights topped by a star.

The fun ornaments can be bought separately for $5 or in packs of eight for $40.

Aldi has also seen a rush from shoppers getting into the festive spirit, and even had to restock one of its most popular Christmas items after it sold out after just two weeks.

Each year, the supermarket giant asks shoppers to vote for the items they most want to see return to its Aldi Finds section, known by fans as the 'aisle of shame'.

The aisle that runs down the middle of stores has gained its colloquial name and reputation because shoppers tend to spot great deals and lose all self-control by indulging in some impulse purchases.

For 2024, the most votes in the Fan Favorites survey went to the festive Huntington Home Swedish Dish Cloth.

Due to a quirk in the calendar Thanksgiving falls later than usual this year, meaning the shopping period between Black Friday and Christmas will be shorter than normal, presenting a tough climate for retailers.

The former vice chairman of Target previously said this combined with a weakened consumer could result in lacklustre sales.

'It's very clear that consumers are running out of money,' Gerald Storch told Fox Business.

'They're increasingly stressed by inflation and the exhaustion of their pandemic-era savings... they're spending less than the growth of inflation,' he told the program.
