Dive heroes can be tricky to deal with in Marvel Rivals, but this underrated Duelist is the perfect counter to make characters like Magik and Wolverine useless.
Every hero in Marvel Rivals has their own distinct playstyle. Some are better at hanging back and picking off supports from a distance, while others thrive on the frontlines, soaking up damage and acting as a shield for the rest of the team.
One of the toughest to handle is dive heroes, who like to get up close and personal to dish out big damage, before quickly escaping to heal up and do it again. They’re powerful and frustrating to play against in the right hands, which is why the likes of Magik, Iron Fist, and Wolverine rank so highly on most tier lists.
But if one or multiple of these characters are making your team’s life a misery, there’s an easy-to-use hero that you should switch to — Scarlet Witch.
Scarlet Witch is the perfect dive counter in Marvel Rivals
The best way to keep dive characters quiet is by damaging them when they go in for the kill, either eliminating them yourself or forcing them to back off. But given that they’re often extremely fast and nimble, they can be impossible to hit with more precise options like Hela or Winter Soldier.
Wanda solves this issue completely, as her Chaos Control primary attack automatically locks on to enemies as long as you’re aiming in roughly the right direction. So, as long as you’re tracking their movements and keeping them on your screen, you’re going to be dealing a steady stream of damage with no fear of missing.

What this does is put the pressure on the dive, as it drastically narrows the window in which they can stick around. Even if you don’t do enough to kill them completely, since Scarlet Witch doesn’t do a huge amount of damage compared to other Duelists, you can do enough to make them think twice and force a retreat.
Her Dark Seal ability can also stun enemies, giving you and your team a window to take them out before they destroy your backline. Plus, as a last resort, her ultimate can wipe out lower health characters, which dive heroes tend to be, in the blink of an eye.
Despite how useful she is, her pick rate has fallen significantly in Season 1.5, with only around 6% of players choosing her, so the trick is yet to be fully discovered by players.
So, if you’re team is constantly being undone by Magic, Spider-Man, or other dive heroes, the ideal counter is staring you right in the face.
