Donald Trump Now Set for Landslide: Forecaster Who Backed Kamala Harris
Newsweek ^ | Oct. 30, 2024 | Theo Burman

An election forecaster who previously predicted a landslide victory for Vice President Kamala Harris has switched his prediction to former President Donald Trump.

Thomas Miller, a data scientist who accurately predicted the 2020 presidential election result, previously backed Harris to win in 2024, telling Newsweek in September that the Democrat was on track to win more than 400 votes in the Electoral College, according to his model.

The model, which relies on betting odds as opposed to polling data aggregates, is now saying that Trump is the favorite, with its most recent prediction estimating the Republican could win 345 votes in the Electoral College.

And the odds in this case do not reflect the impact of senile Joe's “garbage” insult to all Trump voters, who include the large majority of cops, firemen, border patrol agents, and soldiers. This makes me pessimistically optimistic.

TV executive panics that Trump winning means press has no influence: ‘Mainstream media is dead’

More broadly, one network executive told features writer Charlotte Klein, “It’s going to change everything” if Trump wins. The exec said it could signify the complete failure of the news industry.

“If half the country has decided that Trump is qualified to be president, that means they’re not reading any of this media, and we’ve lost this audience completely. A Trump victory means mainstream media is dead in its current form,” they said.

Newsweek, if this is actually from that publication, is really playing both sides of the street today.

On the one hand Trump is reeling and Democrats are surging; on the other hand Trump is heading for a... landslide?

If you defy all logic and project every possible outcome, you can’t help but be right in the end.

yeah, well, mainstream media is utter CRAP.

That’s right, we are not reading any of it.

Twitter (X) is abuzz with claims of voter fraud-especially in Pennsylvania. I knew a Democrat ward/precinct captain in Shamokin who would literally turn out 110% of the vote.

These stories will be fun to read on Wednesday. No one should pay attention to them until then.

If true and if it happens, just think of the historical ramifications.

This guy wasn’t supposed to be the nominee in 2016, the ENTIRE governmental establishment worked against him, he defeats 16 of their “best” men and women on the Republican side, then goes on to decisively defeat the tired old hag.

Then they try to prevent him from actually becoming president, then they do everything they can possibly think of to remove the executive power from him, including impeachment.

They finally succeed in removing the executive power from him in 2020 using shenanigans and try to prevent him, through another impeachment, from ever holding power again.

Then they try to prevent the people from voting for him again from removing him from the ballot in 2024, all the while, indicting him 94 times.

He’s still standing, receives the nomination again, despite their machinations, and destroys the Democrat candidate.

Epic!

Another “CYA” article, playing both sides in the closing days.

I don't trust the betting markets. They can be shorted. All these "Polymarket" polls people love to post about are looking to me like those "unskewed polls" that people here loved in 2012 but that turned out to be total nonsense.

I'm still bullish on Trump winning but not with 400+ EVs. .

So are nearly all of network TV and Hollywood movies.

I wonder if Elton would let him use “I’m Still Standing” as his campaign song? Nah, me neither.

I don’t understand that betting odds number is considered independent to the polls number. Don’t the bettors based their bet on the polls number too?

Cynical me says the Dems are trying to get Trump supporters to relax and think this is in the bag (like Clinton’s people did in ‘16), so they won’t bother to vote on election day. Makes the steal easier...
