Donald Trump set to be first elected politician to be honoured with two state visits to UK

Donald Trump is set to become the first elected politician in modern history to be hosted for two state visits by the British Royal Family, The Telegraph can reveal.
Number 10 and the Foreign Office are preparing to offer the incoming US president an invitation once he is back in the White House, with the backing of Buckingham Palace.
It is proof of an emerging strategy from Sir Keir Starmer to use Mr Trump’s fascination with the monarchy to strike up a strong personal relationship that benefits the UK.
A senior Whitehall source said: “[Mr Trump] loves the Royal Family. Look at the fact he’s had his own photo album made of the last visit. Why wouldn’t we want a repeat?”
Official Royal Family records dating back to 1954 show that no elected leader has ever been given two state visits to the UK. Only two monarchs have enjoyed the honour during this period.
One was Queen Margrethe of Denmark, who was given a state visit to the UK both in 1974 and 2000. The other was King Olav of Norway, who came to Britain in 1963 and again in 1988.
Mr Trump has often spoken in glowing terms about the state visit he enjoyed with Melania Trump, his wife, and adult children in June 2019 during his first presidency.

Be careful around King Charles, Mr. President. He’s not one of the good guys.

“We are the inbred dregs of medieval gangsters living large on Cadillac welfare. Love us!”
England still hasn’t become aware that it no longer rules the world. The UK is now a tiny 3rd world nation imprisoned on a cold, damp and dreary Island infested with millions of Muslim savages. Stick a fork in it, it’s done.

Charles is enough of a good guy to recognize which side his scone is buttered on. Trump made it clear he adored Charles’ mother. Politics aside, that has to soften him toward Trump. Politics to the fore, Charles knows the special relationship strained recently and that making a large gesture to Trump is in the best interests of UK. He might even think he can influence Trump with his strong interests in the environment. William has already shown he’s in his father’s camp by playing nice-nice when they met in Paris.
And Trump will, indeed, LOVE IT! And he’ll be remembering his own mom and her love of her Scottish heritage.

Just like big tech flooding into Mar-a-Lago, the Brits are trying to co-opt him to advance their own agendas. The Brits want to wrap Trump into the Ukraine agenda and prop up Starmer.

I’m going to guess you haven’t been to London lately. It is full of Russians and every other nationality of the world who have a choice in residence and voted with their feet to go there.

Fascination might be a bit over the top.
Yes, that was my first thought. Stay away from Chuckles. William is the one to have discussions with.

Also the first president to win three elections in a row, with successively bigger margins.

Trump once said his weakness was women, but his greater weakness is probably flattery.

I don’t believe that. Trump will be respectful, but he knows fully what the Monarch’s really are.

In a way, today’s UK reminds me of the Byzantine Empire in its final stage. The Byzantines controlled little territory and had a weak military. Yet they kept on giving each other fancy (and hollow) imperial titles.
The Byzantine empire eventually fell to the Muslims.
Just sayin’.

It’s time to stop wasting our time and money on Europe. It’s a lost cause. We need to focus on the Pacific region, which is where our future problems lie. Time to leave NATO and remove all our troops from Europe.
