Donald Trump will be sworn into office as the 47th president of the United States on Monday, a power transition that promises to dramatically change the way Washington engages on the world stage.

The incoming president has pledged a number of moves that will have major implications for allies and adversaries, including a mass deportation plan, a reversal of outgoing US President Joe Biden’s clean-energy policy, a halt on a law banning TikTok and tariffs against major trade partners including China, Mexico and Canada.
