Donna Kelce fiercely denied allegations that her son Travis Kelce made offensive remarks in past social media posts written before he began playing football professionally in 2013.
“Not Travis’ handle and not his account!!” the 74-year-old matriarch wrote on the platform Saturday after being tagged in some of the since-deleted, resurfaced posts.
The tweets were from the X (formerly Twitter) account “@tkelce” and were written between 2009 and 2011. The New York Times previously reported on the tweets and cited Snopes, a fact-checking website that verifies internet rumors, in a 2023 report.
“As a man, You have something wrong with you if your (sic) going for girls that weigh more then (sic) you,” an alleged 2010 tweet read.
Another reportedly written that same year read, “Why can’t girls hide they (sic) backfat? That s–t nasty.”
Many of the tweets allegedly mentioned “ugly” girls, with one joking about being “attacked by ugly girls,” and another reading, “Haha I just caught myself judging every person that walked past me, whether they were ugly, fat, funny looking, sexy haha I’m trippin.”
A rep for Travis, 37, wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end previously addressed other resurfaced tweets during a 2023 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
“F–k. What’s hilarious is nobody followed me back then,” the athlete said, explaining that he used to use the platform as a “diary.”
Travis, who started playing football professionally when he was drafted in 2013, admitted he’s been working to get his past tweets deleted.
“Sure enough, it came surface level and everybody f–king dove into 2011,” he continued. “What a f–king year that was.”
“What was I even f–king doing in some of these tweets?” Travis added, joking that he’d been “tortured” when the tweets went viral.
The NFL star recently came under fire after he “liked” a social media post supporting comedian Shane Gillis’ controversial “Saturday Night Live” opening monologue. The comedian called female gym-goers wearing short shorts “whores” during the Oct. 10 episode.
A source close to Travis told Page Six that “he’s always been a massive fan of the show and he was supporting a friend.”
Travis, meanwhile, is preparing to take on the Los Angeles Chargers at the Chiefs’ home stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday.
It’s unclear if his wife, Taylor Swift, will make an appearance.
