The final moments of a deadly standoff between police and a New York man who drove head-on into a patrol car was captured on dramatic drone footage.
The Steuben County Police Department was called to a home on Angel Road in Cameron for a welfare check last month where they were met with an armed 50-year-old Allen Hoad who allegedly fired a shotgun at responding officers before retreating back inside his home, The Evening Tribute reported.
Hoad fled his home with what appeared to be a long gun after a 12-hour siege of the property - right before the bullet-ridden incident began.
In shocking drone footage released by New York Attorney General Letitia James, Hoad's pick-up truck was captured backing into a parked police vehicle head-on - leading officers to scramble out of the way before it was struck and discharge their weapons in response.
Two dogs, along with Hoad, can then be seen jumping out of the driver's side door as several officers ordered him to stop moving with their guns still drawn - one of the bullets ultimately striking the runaway during the ordeal.
The footage showed Hoad falling to the ground in the tall grass off the side of the roadway just seconds after he exited his vehicle - leading officers to close in on him before they checked his condition and called for medical help.
He was given immediate medical treatment by a sheriff's office paramedic before being transferred to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The deadly siege came after Hoad made numerous terroristic threats to carry out a mass casualty incident and to leave his home armed with weapons - a plan that the sheriff's office said was intended to kill people.
