A suspected DUI driver took police on a chase Sunday night and even managed a quick pit stop to fill up the gas tank before continuing on the stretch from the West Valley to Pasadena.
The California Highway Patrol officials were chasing a high-speed maroon Dodge Charger with blacked-out windows and no headlights, which surpassed the 130mph several times during the run.
AIR7 was constantly monitoring the car, but the driver had a step on the gas, which often made the authorities lose sight of the fast-moving vehicle.
During the chase came a moment when the Dodge driver realized that the car may not be able to take the police for a spin for long because it was about to run out of gas.
The witty driver then pulled off the freeway and made way to a gas station. After filling up the tank, the Dodge Charger resumed leading the cops as if nothing happened.
The cops were finally able to nab the driver along with two passengers when the trio tried to jump off the car and flee near Del Monte Street and Forest Avenue in Pasadena. The three individuals were arrested on the spot.
