This traffic jam was a real nightmare.
Arizonians trapped for hours in bumper-to-bumper traffic were given an early Halloween scare when someone wearing a Michael Myers mask pretended to creep up on them with a knife.
Video going viral online shows the unidentified scare-seeker dressed like the creepy killer from the “Halloween” movies sneaking up on others stuck on Interstate 17 near Black Canyon City, about 45 miles north of Phoenix, and staring intently through the windows with the fake knife.
“He fell into character and made the wait more fun,” said one driver, Ryan Blauvelt, who added to the intensity by blasting out the eerie theme music from the 1978 horror classic.
The pretend Michael Myers crept along the interstate as drivers were stuck in traffic for at least two hours, Blauvelt said, with the videos showing others standing outside their cars, with others even sitting on the side.
But rather than gutting people with his knife — as Myers did in the movies — this character seemed to be only looking for fist bumps, at least according to Blauvelt’s video.
“If anyone knows who this was feel free to forward to him or tag him,” wrote Blauvelt.
The video has gone viral on a local Arizona Facebook group with other residents loving the impromptu entertainment.
“Turning lemons into lemonade. So cool,” one woman commented, while another commentator wrote: “The world needs more of this kind of light-hearted fun right now. Thanks for sharing.”
Not everyone would have been ready for the scare, however, with one person joking: “I would have a heart attack!”
