A new EA FC 27 leak has revealed that players will be able to scan their own faces into the game for the first time in 10 years.

EA FC 27 is due to arrive on September 18, and the devs have been busy revealing all of the new features. Ultimate Team is getting a card grading system, while The Grounds open world is set to make Clubs bigger than ever before.

But according to a leak, there are still some additions that are yet to be officially revealed, including a popular system that hasn’t been seen for a decade.

EA FC 27 leaks reveals “PhotoFit” face scan feature

Trusted insider FUT Sherrif shared a post explaining that PhotoFit is set to be added in FC 27. This feature will allow players to take a scan of their own face, customize it, and then upload it directly into the game.

Although they didn’t offer up any more details about which modes it will be used for, Player Career Mode and Clubs seem the most likely. Both of these are all about creating a player and living out the fantasy of being a soccer star, so it makes sense that you’d be able to impose your own face onto your avatar.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a system like this in the series. All the way back in FIFA 12, the devs rolled out the Game Face feature, which allowed fans to upload photos of themselves to create a custom player.

It was later removed after FIFA 16, but PhotoFit sounds a lot like a modern version of it, which could make use of the facial scanning technology that most smartphones have in 2026.

This is still just a leak for now, so take it all with a pinch of salt. However, Sheriff has proved to be a reliable source in the past.

So, it sounds like fans will be able to drop themselves into The Grounds and take on the many minigames and side activities.
