EA FC 27’s Ultimate Team mode is set to become more like an actual trading card collection than ever before, thanks to card grading and special signed items.

Ever since it launched back in 2009, Ultimate Team has tried to capture a lot of the same magic as collecting soccer stickers or cards. Fans open packs containing player cards, and there are special versions that are rarer and more valuable.

EA FC 27 takes this one step further with the FUT Gallery, where players are challenged to complete sets of different cards and even get them graded.

FC 27 Ultimate Team is more like a real card collection than ever

Any player you’ve ever owned, either by opening a pack or purchasing from the Transfer Market, is automatically added to your Gallery. Groups of cards can then be submitted to complete sets with different themes, such as a full set from a specific league, club, or nation.

Each card in the set is assigned a Gallery Value, which is based on the rating, stats, and rarity of the card. Once a set is complete, it can be graded anywhere from D to S; so a set of all Gold cards would likely be on the lower end, but adding some Team of the Week or other promo items will boost it.

Completing sets in the Gallery earns rewards, including the new Hall of FUT cards, which depict fan-favorite players who have gone down as legends in Ultimate Team, such as Hulk and Fellani.

FC 27 also introduces special holographic cards, which look like they’ve been plucked straight out of a real sticker collection. They feature a unique black design and the player’s signature scribbled over the card.

These items don’t have any stat boosts compared to the regular items, but they do have a higher Gallery Value, making them ideal for increasing your grade on a set.

This is one of many big additions coming with EA FC 27, alongside The Grounds open world mode and Creator Challenges in Career Mode
