Earl Spencer's allegations about the Palace have been "ramped up to the nth degree", a royal commentator as said.
Speaking to GB News, Editor-at-Large for the Mail on Sunday Charlotte Griffiths argued that the allegations made about King Charles in his new memoir are "out of control".
King Charles is facing fresh turmoil after the brother of Princess Diana penned a bombshell new memoir in her honour, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister.
In the book, amongst many claims, Earl Spencer claims Queen Elizabeth II offered to "restore Princess Diana's HRH title on the day of her funeral".
Having lost her royal title amid her divorce with the then Prince Charles, Earl Spencer says she was left "dreadfully hurt" by the "petty and vindictive" removal.
Earl Spencer recounted a conversation with Sir Robert Fellowes, the Queen's Private Secretary, in which the offer was made on the Royal Train after Princess Diana's funeral.
He wrote: "When we had gone some miles, Robert beckoned me to follow him into a quiet corner of the carriage. I have just received a call from Her Majesty... and she would like to offer Diana her HRH title back.
"I felt that I knew in my bones how she would view this posthumous award. That's very kind of the Queen, of course. But what's the point, Robert? Now? I mean - Diana's dead."

Reacting to the claim, Ms Griffiths told GB News that Earl Spencer has "ramped up" his allegations.
She said: "There's just so many of them, and the latest one is now coming to the late Queen, saying that the late Queen cruelly stripped Diana of her HRH title. Diana felt it was a vindictive act.
"And the Queen sort of must have realised the error of her ways on a train to Althorp, which is Earl Spencer's family home, because Earl Spencer was notified during this train journey by Lord Fellows that the Queen actually realised that she needed her title back and Charles Spencer refused on her behalf.
"So yet again, I think he's ramped it up to the nth degree by coming to the late Queen."
Reflecting on all the allegations made so far, as the memoir is being serialised by the Mail, Ms Griffths said the claims made against King Charles are "out of control".
She told GB News: "We've heard that the King is now incandescent, apparently, according to sources. Obviously we know what he feels from his statement, which was very, very forceful, totally unprecedented.
"And what we were all calling it is recollections may vary 2.0, but I think it was much stronger than recollections may vary 1.0, because the accusations being levelled at him by Earl Spencer are just out of control."
Questioned on the timing of Earl Spencer's book, Ms Griffiths argued that although Diana's brother claims he wants to correct "untruths" about his sister, the publishers are "laughing all the way to the bank".

She said: "He's saying it's because the anniversary of Diana's death is coming up, it'll be next summer, so we're going to see mountains of coverage in the coming months.
"And he said he couldn't bear to read another set of historical reports and articles with untruths in them, and he felt the need to correct those those truths. I mean, obviously the cynic in me thinks there's also the very healthy pay cheque, and the publishers must be laughing all the way to the bank because he has not let them down, to say the least.
"The revelations are massive and they're coming in thick and fast, and there's a lot more to come."
A Buckingham Palace spokesman told GB News: "While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss."
