Residents on the street that was the former home to Elon Musk’s grandmother have reacted to the news of the billionaire’s apparent interest in buying Liverpool FC.

Speaking recently, Elon Musk’s father - Errol Musk - said that his son “would like” to purchase Premier League football side, Liverpool FC.

He added that the reason for this is because of a family attachment to the city itself.

Musk’s grandmother was born and raised in the Mossley Hill area of Liverpool, with the US billionaire tweeting yesterday that: “My Nana was one of the poor working-class girls with no one to protect her who might have been abducted in present day Britain.”

"And round here now, nonsense. No sign of it, whatever his [Elon’s] agenda is, it’s nothing to do what’s going on here”

When asked about his thoughts on the potential for the US billionaire to purchase Liverpool FC, he added:“I’m not even sure he likes football…I wouldn’t like his interference at all really in our politics, in our sport. No, stay away!”

Musk is yet to comment on the likelihood of him attempting to purchase the club, but the current owners have reportedly said they would not be willing to sell.
