Embattled Trump-backed congressman makes bizarre announcement after his attorney ADMITS to sharing 'intimate' picture of their two-year-old daughter

Congressman Max Miller announced he is requesting an ethics investigation into himself as he faces mounting calls to drop out of his reelection race over his ex-wife's allegations of domestic violence and drug abuse.

Emily Moreno, the daughter of Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno, has accused Miller in court filings of throwing boiling water at her, holding a gun to her head and shoving her against a wall. He has denied all of her allegations. 

Moreno, who married Miller at Mar-a-Lago in 2022 and divorced him last year, can be heard accusing him of leaving syringes and marijuana near his bed in audio recordings the Congressman himself released over the weekend.

Miller has adamantly denied ever leaving 'needles' by his bed, but later admitted to taking testosterone replacement therapy and claimed he had been open with Emily about it. 

The Congressman announced Tuesday that renewed interest in his family affairs led him to file the ethics paperwork himself to clear his name amid the attacks on him and his family. 

The lawmaker's defiant statement makes clear he has no intention of quitting the race ahead of Wednesday's deadline to withdraw his name from the ballot.

'I have absolutely nothing to hide. We will be providing the committee all necessary documents needed for a detailed examination,' Miller wrote on X. 

'The accusations continue to change, but my facts stay the same. I am looking forward to my colleagues reading everything for themselves.'

The announcement came hours after his own attorney admitted he inadvertently released an 'intimate' photo of the couple's toddler in a cache of material Miller posted online Sunday to defend himself.

Moreno's attorney accused him of sharing an 'intimate image' of their two-year-old daughter in the files he put out online, including the audio clips, in a blistering letter.

Miller's attorney Aaron Minc then apologized for the blunder in a statement and insisted the inclusion of the toddler's image was 'completely unintentional.'

Lawyers for Miller's ex-wife had claimed the picture appeared to show the child's genitals and could constitute 'child sexual abuse material.'

Minc angrily rejected that characterization, telling Mediaite: 'There were no images of "genitals." A two-year-old girl had her shirt off. That is a deliberately false, sensationalized, and disgusting characterization.'

The Daily Mail reached out to Minc for comment.  

Senator Moreno meanwhile revealed he picked his granddaughter up from Miller at a police station on Sunday, saying the family insists on meeting there 'because I don't know what this guy's capable of.'

He also accused the congressman of refusing to hand over the toddler's favorite little blue bunny and that his ex-son-in-law 'literally held it hostage for 48 hours.'

'My daughter lives in constant fear of this man,' Senator Moreno told reporters on Tuesday. 'You can't fathom what that makes me feel like when the dad's number one job is to protect your kids. 

'If there's any minimum standard for being an elected official, he fails to meet that minimum basic standard. I don't care about the politics at all.' 

Despite Miller's push for the House Ethics Committee to investigate him, the panel is unlikely to release any findings before voters head to the polls in November.

President Donald Trump has stood by Miller, calling the saga 'a very sad thing' and saying he will let the families sort it out themselves.

The Daily Mail was the first to reveal in May that Miller was facing domestic abuse allegations from Moreno, publishing photographs she took of her alleged injuries.
