Marvel Rivals Season 2 is on the horizon, promising to bring some new heroes, a new map, and a brand-new seasonal storyline with it. And Emma Frost will be the first hero added.
It’s meant to be an X-Men themed season, one that has Ultron and his goons crashing the Hellfire Gala and ruining a night of peace that brings the entire Marvel world together.
The Gala will no doubt bring a number of new skins to the game along with the new Krakatoa storyline and map, but the real star of the show here is Emma Frost.
Here’s everything we know about Season 2’s very first new hero.
When is Emma Frost releasing?
Emma Frost will be coming to Marvel Rivals when Season 2 launches on April 11, 2025. She’ll be joining the already massive hero lineup, but she won’t be the only character getting added in Season 2.
NetEase GamesUltron showed his face as the villain of this season, but he was datamined as a Support hero before Season 1 even started. It’s very likely we’ll see him a short time after Emma.
What role is Emma Frost?
Emma Frost is likely a Vanguard, a.k.a. a Tank. Though her name gives you an indication that she’s got some ice powers, she’s also known for being able to give herself bulletproof skin.

If you look closely at the start of her hero trailer, you can see Emma Frost’s skin turned to diamond.
Early leaks for the hero also corroborated that she’d be a Tank, though not much is known about her actual kit just yet. There’s also a chance she ends up being a DPS or Support hero that toes the line between roles and ends up being a hybrid Tank like Mister Fantastic.
Additionally, leaks from around Marvel Rivals’ launch revealed some of Emma Frost’s in-development team ups. Though there’s a solid chance things have changed in the months since launch, X0X_leaks revealed that both Magneto and Psylocke are set to have a team up with the hero.
